Insects are everywhere, in fact, if there were no insects there would probably be no humans or anything else on the planet. They pollinate the plants and the trees and have a symbiotic relationship with them, meaning neither could exist without the other.

Having established the importance of insects, I must also mention their downside, and that is when they encroach into our environment; then we find a need to control their activities. It is all very well garden ants pollinating our house plants, but when they take a holiday in the sugar bowl or jam jar then that is another matter.
